Haryana adds 20 lakh tonne rice to Central Pool
Chandigarh, May 26 (UNI) The Haryana government has delivered 20.13 lakh tonnes of rice to the Central Pool till April 30, said Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan. He added that the state had delivered 16.53 lakh tonnes of rice to the Central Pool last year.
Giving details of the rice delivered by various government agencies and millers to the FCI for Central Pool, Mr Chander Mohan said that HAFED had delivered 6.67 lakh tonnes to the central pool, Food and Supplies Department 4.26 lakh tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries 1.43 lakh tonnes, Haryana Ware Housing Corporation 1.32 lakh tonnes, Confed 1.14 lakh tonnes and FCI 62,000 tonnes.
He said a total of 15.44 lakh tonnes of rice was delivered by the various procuring agencies to the Central Pool besides 4.69 lakh tonnes delivered by the millers.
Mr Chander Mohan said that Kurukshetra District has delivered 4.28 lakh tonnes, Karnal 3.15 lakh tonnes, Kaithal 2.38 lakh c tonnes, Fatehabad 3.10 lakh tonnes and Ambala 2.19 lakh tonnes.
