Delhi CM inaugurates state-of-art system to monitor distribution
New Delhi, May 26 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today inaugurated a state-of-the-art supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system by the BSES which will enable remote monitoring of dustribution system thus helping in faster identification and restoration of faults.
The installation of the fault restoration system, which will enable the BSES to reduce the fault restoration time by over 60 per cent, makes Delhi join the league of global cities like Singapore, Hong Kong and Stockholm where SCADA has been successfully deployed.
Inaugurating the system at an impressive ceremony, attended by Delhi Power Minister Haroon Yusuf, BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra, Congress leader Subhash Chopra and senior government and BSES officials, Ms Dikshit said,''I am delighted that Delhi is going world class. By adopting this technology, Delhi has joined the league of cities like Singapore, Hong Kong and Stockholm.'' The installation of the system, estimated to cost Rs 153 crore, will enable all 117 Grid stations in the BSES' licensed area to be remote controlled.
