Bob Houghton to take over as Indian football coach
New Delhi, May 26 (UNI) Bob Houghton is all set to take over as Indian football coach and his name will be cleared by All India Football Federation (AIFF) President Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi shortly.
A Federation source told UNI today that the AIFF Technical Committee has forwarded the Englishman's name for the post to Mr Dasmunsi for approval.
Meanwhile, the Special General Body of the Federation met here today with Mr Dasmunsi presiding the meeting but did not discuss the issue of Houghton's appointment and stuck to the agenda.
The GBM discussed the amendment of Federation Constitution to scrap voting rights of state associations which do not conduct tournaments regularly and to refer all disputes to Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in Lausanne.
