BJP neither for ban nor boycott of 'Fanaa'
New Delhi, May 26: Clarifying its position on Aamir Khan's latest movie 'Fanaa', the BJP today said it was neither for ban nor boycott of the movie.
BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said ''if someone wants to show the movie, he is welcome.'' The party would neither be for or against the showing of the film, he added.
The attack on the Narmada reservoir was perceived as anti-Gujarat attiude and taken seriously by the state government, forgetting the party position, Mr Javadekar added.
Another top party leader said criticism of BJP by the actor was worsening the situation.
''Adopting a low profile is the best stance for him but by politicising the issue, he has only spoiled things,'' he said.
''Aamir Khan'' unapologitic stance on Narmada shows that he has a political agenda, which does not suit him because he doesn't have the image of a 'political activist' like Shabana Azmi,'' the BJP leader said.
