PCC asks its leaders to unitedly fight the LF govt

Kolkata, May 25 (UNI) The Congress,West Bengal unit, today organised a condolence meeting in memory of veteran leader and MP A B A Ghani Khan Chowdhury and urged its workers to fight against the ruling Left Front government in the state.

" We respect Mr Chowdhury's farsight. He tried his best to forge an alliance with the Trinamool Congress before Parliament and the Assembly elections to oust the LF government, but it had not happened," Congress leader said.

All India Minority Forum also organised a similar meeting at the Park circus maidan here and demanded that the Centre confer the Bharat Ratna award on the Congress leader as well as name a metro station in his name.

Former PCC president Somen Mitra, working president Pradip Bhattacharjee and other dignitories also spoke on the occasion.
