Indraprastha Gas Ltd net up 14.2% at Rs 106.13 cr for FY06
New Delhi, May 25 (UNI) Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), producer, marketer and distributor of compressed natural gas, has registered a growth of 14.2 per cent in its net profit for the year ended March 31, 2006, at Rs 106.13 crore as against Rs 92.68 crore in 2004-05.
The company's gross turnover was up by 15.4 per cent at Rs 609.62 crore in FY06 as compared to Rs 528.2 crore in FY05.
IGL expects to maintain its growth rate during FY07 with growth opportunities in the conversion of private cars, introduction of CNG in the category of Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs) and also large-scale expansion of Piped Natural Gas in the domestic, commercial and industrial segments, a company statement released here said.
At present, the company caters to over 1,06,000 CNG vehicles, including 25,000 private cars and expects an addition of about 1500 to 2000 cars to its consumer base every month.
It alongwith Northern Railways has also carried out trial runs for running DEMU trains on dual fuel mode i.e. CNG and Diesel. The commercial operation of these trains is expected shortly.
