India to play Australia in opening match of Azlan Shah Hockey
Chennai, May 25 (UNI) India will take on defending champions Australia in their opening match of the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey tournament to be held in Kuala Lumpur from June 18 to 25.
The fixtures were released by IHF President K P S Gill while announcing an 18-member team for the week-long event.
India are grouped along with Australia, South Korea and Malaysia, while the other group consists of Holland, Pakistan, Argentina and New Zealand.
June 18: Argentina VS New Zealand; Australia VS India; South Korea VS Malaysia June 19: Holland VS Pakistan; South Korea VS Australia; India VS Malaysia.
June 20: Holland VS Argentina; Pakistan VS New Zealand June 21: India VS South Korea; Australia VS Malaysia June 22: Pakistan VS Argentina; Holland VS New Zealand June 23: Semifinals.
June 24: 7th/8th and 5th/6th place playoff June 25: Final and 3rd/4th place playoff UNI GV-VV ROY PDS VV1919
