Four people washed away in rain water

Bellary, Karnataka, May 25 (UNI) Four people -- two women and two kids -- were washed away in the gushing rain waters near Hosahalli village under Kudligi police station limits, late last night.

Police said that in the heavy rains that lashed the village, the entire Ashraya Colony was flooded and the residents of the area climbed to roof tops to save their lives. As the victims could not manage to move to a safer place, they were washed away in the gushing waters.

The deceased were identified as Nagamma (60), Lakshmamma (22), Gangamma (2) and Basavaraj (3). The bodies were later recovered.
