2 key aides of top naxalite arrested in Bellary
Bellary, May 25 (UNI) The Naxalites Control Task Force here has arrested two aides of top naxalite Rangareddy, belonging to the CPI (ML) Anantapur Group, in this district of Karnataka.
Additional Superintendent of Police C Rajappa told reporters here today that Paala Sivaiah and Mohammed Ghouse were arrested yesterday. With this, the number of Rangareddy's aides arrested had increased to seven.
While Sivaiah, a mine owner and one of the key aides of Rangareddy, was arrested at his residence in Kampli Kottaala, 60 km from here, Ghouse was nabbed at Vaddarabanda here.
Rajappa said Sivaiah here involved in circulating fake currency and also funding Rangareddy.
Rangareddy was the main accused in the case relating to the threatening of one S K Modi, a mine owner, for ransom. Two months ago, the police had recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition at Rangareddy's hideout. Police were on the look out for the dreaded naxal.
