Militants kill a political activist and injure another in valley

Srinagar, May 24 (UNI) Militants today shot dead an activist of Peoples Democratic Forum (PDF), a partner in the coalition government and injured another in the valley overnight, official sources said.

Khazir Baigh, PDF activist was shot dead by militants at Badgam in the central Kashmir early this morning, sources added.

Militants shot at and wounded one Shakeel Ahmad at Kulgam. He was hospitalised.

A boy is alert today averted a major tragedy when he detected a live hand grenade in a class room at Dooru in south Kashmir.

The bomb disposal squad was called into action who defused the grenade.
