Four members of a family charred to death

Chitradurga, Karnataka, May 24 : Four members of a family, including two women and a boy, were charred to death when their house caught fire at Mallasamudra village, about 60 km from here, last night.

Police said the mishap occurred when one of the victims used a lighter inside their petty shop-cum-house while the others were asleep.

The deceased were identified as Mahadevamma (40), Vasanth Kumar (25), Jayaram (15) and Bhuvalakshmi (20).

Senior police officials visited the spot.
