Bajrang Dal demands imposition of president's rule in J
Kanpur, May 24 (UNI) Alleging that the Union and Jammu and Kashmir governments have virtually failed to protect the lives and property of people, Bajrang Dal today demanded imposition of president's rule in the valley.
Talking to newspersons here, Dal convenor Prakash Sharma -- who recently visited Doda area in Jammu -- charged the Hindus were being massacred by terrorists and subversive elements.
''Jammu and Kashmir government has completely failed and terrorists have a free hand in the valley. They are targetting people at will and there is no tab on them,'' he said.
He warned if the state government remained in power, the terrorists would continue to wreck havoc in the state.
Mr Sharma urged President A P J Abdul Kalam to dismiss the state government. ''Paramilitary forces be given a free hand to bust terrorists' hideouts and arrest them,'' the safron outfit leader said.
He also accused the Centre of pursuing an appeasement policy.'' ''While union home minister rushed the same day to Vadodara where a minority community person was killed by police, he reached Doda the next day, where 22 Hindus were massacred recently,'' he alleged.
