Amir Khan to cheer for Sajid Mahmood in 2nd Test against Lanka

London, May 24 (UNI) Olympic silver medallist boxer Amir Khan will be cheering for his cousin and England pacer Sajid Mahmood when Andrew Flintoff's side takes on Sri Lanka in the second Test starting tomorrow at Edgbaston.

Amir Khan beat Laszlo Komjathi in Belfast last weekend and with no bout for a few more weeks, he is likely to come down to the second Test to see his cousin in action.

Sajid, who once had a black eye when he tried to act as Amir's sparring partner, watched Amir's fight on television and was happy with the outcome.

Incidentally, stand-in captain Flintoff was at the ringside during the fight.

''I didn't go to the fight, I stayed behind to do some bowling instead. I watched the fight on television and I thought he came through it pretty well.

''I've spoken to him a couple of times over the last week and I saw him yesterday after he got back from Belfast. I was a bit worried at times when I was watching on television but he came out pretty well at the end of it,'' Mahmood was quoted as saying by the Birmingham Post.

Despite his fairytale Lord's debut, taking three wickets in nine balls, Mahmood has no illusion about himself and said, ''I think if (Steve) Harmison and (Simon) Jones both get fit, then I'll be gone straight out of the side.'' ''They are the No 1 bowlers for England, but I'm in the team now and I'm going to give 110 per cent as long as I'm here,'' he added.
