V P Singh's Jan Morcha, Justice Party join hands
Lucknow, May 23: Formwer Prime Minister V P Singh's new political outfit Jan Morcha (JM) today joined hands with Indian Justice Party (IJP) ''to fight for the rights of farmers and Dalits.'' Announcing the new alliance, here Mr Singh said the two outfits would formally hold a rally at the Lakshman Mela Grounds on May 30.
''While the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre has announced its intentions to allow reservation in private sector, the industrialists have been browbeating the Congress against such a move...Even after two years of coming to power, the UPA has done little to fulfill our long-pending dermand,'' IJP president Udit Raj said.
He also attacked ''Dalit leaders'' for failing to enact a Reservation law in the country to ensure proper implementation of reservation in the government sector.
Mr Raj claimed the Centre was also going slow on the plans to introduce reservation for OBC students in government-aided institutions of higher Education.
''Let the government not lower seats for general category but they should also provide reservation to OBC students in these institutions,'' he added.
JM leader and suspended Samajwadi Party MP Raj Babbar said the newly-formed alliance was not limited to fighting polls only but it was also committed to fight for the rights of the downtrodden.
