UP to start centre's employment scheme in 22 districts
Lucknow, May 23 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government today decided to implement the central government sponsored national rural employment guarantee scheme in 22 districts of the state.
The state cabinet has also approved the central act, for implementation of the scheme.
State chief secretary N C Bajpayee said UP had sanctioned Rs 130 crore for the scheme, under which rural unemployed would be given 100 days of work per year.
The state would also set up a labour gurantee council under the chairmanship of Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC).
In the district, CDO would be the coordinator of the scheme while BDO will be the programme officer in the blocks.
In another decision, the government decided to auction 215 country-made liquor and 6 foreign-made liquor shops at low rates as no one was interested in the present rates.
However, the rate would not be less than what was received in 2005-06. An amount of Rs 51 crore would be collected by the government through the auction.
The service rules for state consumer commission for group C and D employees was also approved.
