Trial of former Ethiopian ruler Mengistu adjourned

ADDIS ABABA, May 23 (Reuters) An Ethiopian judge today postponed a verdict in the genocide trial of former ruler Mengistu Haile Mariam until January next year.

Presiding judge Medhin Kiros said the court needed more time to assess the huge body of evidence in the case, which has already taken 12 years to try.
