Rupee volatile after opening stronger at 45.51/52 per US dollar

Mumbai, May 23 (UNI) The rupee opened four paise stronger at 45.51/52 per US dollar as compared to the last close of 45.55/57, said a dealer in the forex market.

However, volatility in the stock markets, with 400 points fall on the Sensex just after opening, led to sharp fall in rupee to 45.5950 per US dollar. The rupee traded at 45.54/55 per USD around 1020 hrs.
