Kochi Refineries, AVT Natural Products getting awards

Kochi, May 23 (UNI) Kochi Refineries and AVT Natural Products have been chosen for productivity awards by the Kerala State Productivity Council.

In the large industries sector, Kochi Refineries bagged top honours followed by Hindustan Organic Chemicals, both situated at Ambalamugal, near here, council chairman K P Haridas said at a press meet here today.

In the medium industries division, AVT Natural Products of Vazhakulam and Indian Rare Earths, Udyogamandal, finished first and second respectively.

The FACT-M K K Nayar Memorial awards were set up by the Productivity Council, a tripartite organisation of the Government, employers and employees floated in 1959 to spread the message of productivity in different sectors.

The awards, consisting of certificates and trophies, would be presented by Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan here in June.

In the small industries section, Classic Paints of Kochi was adjudged the best while Nambuiattukudy Agro Mills, Perumbavoor came second. In the service sector, Popular Vehicles and Services bagged the first prize, followed by Veega Holidays and Parks, Kochi.
