DS Contructions bags Rs 40 cr Sandrur road project
New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) DS Constructions Ltd (DSC), infrastructure developer today announced that it has bagged the Rs 40 crore Sandur Bypass Road Project on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis from the Public Works Department (PWD) of Karnataka.
The concession period for the project is 20 years, which includes a construction period of 18 months.
The project entails the development of bypass road to Sandur Town, which will help in diverting the heavy iron ore traffic moving from mines situated in and around Sandur, away from the town.
The Sandur Bypass will be a 2-lane road with Earthen Shoulders on either side having three sections-- Eastern Section of 8.583 km, Northern Section of 6.943 km and Bhujanganagar Bypass of 0.072 km.
''This is our second significant project in Southern India after the Salem-Attur gauge conversion project which will strengthen our footprint in the region,'' DS Constructions Ltd Managing Direcor M S Narula said.
''Once the Rs 40 crore project is completed, the bypass road will provide relief for the residents of Sandur from the dust and noise pollution caused by trucks involved in the movement of iron ore from nearby mines,'' he further added.
DSC an an ISO 9001:2000 certification, is currently executing the longest expressway project of 135 km long Western Peripheral Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway at a cost of Rs 1800 crores.
The company has also forayed into the Indian Hydro Power sector with the Rs 5000 crore, Naying Hydroelectric Power Project in Arunachal Pradesh.
