Crompton Greaves Q4 net up 38 pc to Rs 56 cr

Mumbai, May 23: Crompton Greaves has posted a net profit of Rs 56.10 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 40.73 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005, a jump of 37.73 per cent.

Announcing the results, the Company said its total income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 636.32 crore in Q4 FY 04-05 to Rs 810.21 crore for Q4 FY 05-06.

It has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 163.05 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 114.78 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005. Total Income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 1999.40 crore in FY 04-05 to Rs 2553.33 crore for FY 05-06.

The Group has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 232.03 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 (FY 05-06) as compared to Rs 117.12 crore for the year ended March 31, 2005 (FY 04-05). Total Income (net of excise) is Rs 4191.76 crore for FY 05-06 whereas the same was at Rs 2017.11 crore in FY 04-05.

Meanwhile, the Board of Crompton Greaves, at its meeting held today, recommended sub-division of each fully paid equity share of the Company, having a present face value of Rs 10 each into five fully paid equity shares of the face value of Rs 2 each, subject to approval of members at the forthcoming annual general meeting.

Further the Company has informed that the Board has also proposed to increase the present authorised capital of Rs 60 crore divided into six crore equity shares of Rs 10 each, to Rs 125 crore divided into 62.50 crore equity shares of Rs 2 each, subject to approval of members at the forthcoming annual general meeting.
