Corporation Bank to improve credit distribution in Goa Zone
Panaji, May 23 (UNI) The Corporation Bank's executive director Mr K L Gopalakrishna has advised the branch chiefs to improve credit distribution in agriculture, small scale industries and priority sectors.
Addressing the Review and Planning Conference of the heads of branches and extension counters of the bank's Goa Zone, Mr Gopalakrishna urged them to help improve the bank's performance and maintain its growth throughout.
Bank General Manager Mr A Mohan Rao, speaking on the occasion, stressed the need for reaching out to more people to popularise its financial schemes by utilising technological advancements introduced in banking.
Goa Region had transacted business to the tune of Rs 1,524.12 crore in the 2005-06 fiscal by attracting Rs 1,275.80 crore deposits as against distribution of Rs 248.32 crore advances.
It had targetted to achieve Rs 1,885 crore business in the fiscal 2006-07, accordfing to assistant general manager Mr Gokuldas Kamath of the Goa Zonal Office of the bank.
