CBI files closure after probing for almost 2 years
New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) After probing corruption charges against a man heading an NGO for almost two years, the CBI today filed closure report in court saying case against him is not tenable as he is not a 'public servant'.
In a closure report filed before Special Judge Vinod Goyal, the investigative agency said the case against 'Severa' chief R K Mittal could not be made out as he was not a 'public servant'.
The CBI had registered a case against Mittal in July 2004, on a complaint by one Kalicharan, for allegedly making out 'false' bills under the 'mobile health scheme'.
He was also caught accepting Rs 1,400 for making one such bill.
His NGO worked for the welfare of shanty dwellers.
