AP govt announces exgratia to the victims of arch collapse

Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, May 23 (UNI) Prakasham District Collector B Udaya Laxmi today said that the Andhra Pradesh government has announced Rs 50,000 exgratia to the next of kin of the five persons who were killed and eight others sustained injuries when a temple arch which was under construction suddenly collapsed near Ongole Bypass road.

Speaking to newsmen here, Ms Laxmi said Rs 50,000 would be given to the next kin of the victims under 'Apadbandhu' scheme and Rs one lakh exgratia from the state Endowment department.

She said the government would give Rs 10,000 as exgratia to the injured persons and construct houses for the families of the five victims under Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) scheme.
