Urdu University to tie-up with Pakistan universities
Hyderabad, May 20 (UNI) Maulana Azad National Urdu University Vice Chancellor Professor A M Pathan today said the university would collaborate with the Urdu Universities of Pakistan to improve Udru educational standards at university level.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Pathan said a six member university delegation will travel to Pakistan to meet the officials of the Federal Urdu University of Karachi and Islamabad Urdu University.
During the visit, the delegation would discuss exchange programme of teachers and students.
He said the tie-up with the foreign universities would help to upgrade the educational standards and improve efficiency of the teaching faculty.
Mr Pathan said apart from introducing new diploma courses in medical lab technology, radio imaging techology and other seven vocational courses from this year, a new masters degree course in education and translation would be soon introduced during this academic year.
He said a Centre for development of Professional Urdu Medium Teachers would also be set up during this year.
Around 56,000 students have enrolled in distance education centre and 890 admitted on regular mode in the university.
