Jaipur, May 20 (UNI) With the reservation issue in higher educational institutes gaining momentum here, its protestors and supporters are heading for a face-off in Rajasthan.

While Swavrn Aarakshan Manch (SAM) has called a Jaipur bandh on May 25 in protest against the reservation, the Students Federation of India (SFI) has decided to burn the effigy of Chairman of Knowledge Commission Sam Pitroda and will stage demonstrations in support of reservations.

SAM's co-ordinator Suresh Mishra told mediamen today wisdom yajnas, signature campaigns and flying of black flags would mark the May 25 Jaipur bandh. Vehicle rallies would also be taken out.

He said if the Centre fails to comply even then, then bandhs would be held in every district headquarters. Mr Mishra said his organisation has the support of business community, students and many other social organisations.

Meanwhile SFI's National Vice-President Dr Sanjay Madhav has accused the protestors of reservation of fanning communal disharmony in the country and said SFI would burn Pitroda's effigies in the entire state on May 22.

He said some people are against the upliftment of the poor and backward classes and that is the reason behind these protests against reservations.

Dr Madhav said SFI is not against increasing the number of seats in higher educational institutes and also the 10 per cent reservation.
