Indian eves moves up one place in FIFA rankings

New Delhi, May 20 (UNI) Indian women gained one place to take the 55th spot in the world and moved into top 10 among Asian nations in the latest FIFA rankings.

With 1443 points to its kitty, India are now just below Greece in the 129-nation list headed by world champions Germany, according to information received here today.

Olympic champions United States of America are placed second in the leaderboard, followed by Norway, Brazil, Sweden, France, North Korea, China, Denmark and Italy in the top 10.

Besides North Korea and China -- who are at seventh and eighth places respectively -- other Asian nations ahead of India in the rankings are Japan (13th), South Korea (23rd), Chinese Taipei (25th), Vietnam (35th), Thailand (41st), Myanmar (43rd) and Uzbekistan (49th).
