IIM-K declines comment on hike of seats
Kozhikode, May 20: The prestigious Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) today refused to comment on the possibility of hike in seats in the wake of Centre's proposed move to give 27 per cent reservation in higher educational institutions in the country.
Talking to UNI, IIM-K director Krishna Kumar said, ''neither I am aware of any Government move on the issue nor received any direction from any quarter seeking increase in seats.'' Refusing to give any further information, he said, ''as far as I know this was a creation of the media.'' Reports from Kolkata today said, IIM-Kolkata had decided to increase the number of seats from the next academic session whereas IIM-Ahmedabad had ruled out any increase stating that the Institute had around 180 MBA seats in 2002, which were expected to be increased to 400 by 2007.
