LONDON, May 20: Manchester United owner Malcolm Glazer, 77, is recovering after suffering a second stroke.

''The condition is understood not to be life-threatening,'' a spokesman for the Glazer family said Yesterday.

The American suffered a first stroke in mid-April and was re-admitted to Cleveland Clinic hospital on April 30 after a second stroke. His speech and mobility continue to be impaired.

''Doctors expect my father to return home in the next few weeks,'' said Joel Glazer, one of his sons.

''As a result of this stroke his rehabilitation period will be longer and more challenging. Our family appreciates all the support and warm wishes that we have received.'' The US-based Glazer family secured a $1.49 billion buy-out of premier league club United just over a year ago.
