Day temp stays above normal in most parts of India

Pune, May 20 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura and above normal in north coastal Orissa and southwest Rajasthan. They were markedly below normal in Jammu and appreciably below normal in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, west Rajasthan, Telangana, south interior Karnataka and interior Tamil Nadu and were below normal in Jharkhand and in some parts of Gujarat, west Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, north madhya Maharashtra and remaining parts of Telangana. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Rains or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Orissa and Jharkhand and at few places in West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kasmir, east Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Telangana and Kerala and at isolated places in north Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Konkan and Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Rayalseema, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail at south Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Very light rains occurred at isolated places in Gangetic West Bengal, Punjab and Vidarbha.

Rains or thundershowers have occurred at most places in east Uttar Pradesh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Sub- Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar and Chattisgarh and at few places in Assam and Meghalaya, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, west Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
