Rai 61st in Skeet, shooters fall by wayside in World Cup
New Delhi, May 20: Indian shooters sunk without a trace in the men's Skeet event at the ongoing ISSF World Cup in Cairo with Amardeep Rai's 61st place being the best show by the contingent.
Amardeep totalled 114 with a series of 24,23,22,22 and 23 for his 61st place, according to information received here today.
Among his compatriots, Amit Sanghi finished 65th with a score of 113 (24,23,20,22,24) while Baba Bedi finished 80th with a score of 109 (23,24,20,21,21).
Earlier, Gusti Noria had shot a score of 107 (23,23,21,19,21) in the Minimum Qualification Section and could not advance further.
The Gold and Olympic Quota in this event was won by Germany's Axel Wegner with a score of 146+4 (123+23) while the Silver was won by Antonis Nicolaides from Cyprus with a score of 146+3 (122+24).
Both the marksmen were tied at 146 and Wegner won the competition in a shoot off four to three while the bronze was won by Alfredo Guillermo Torrer of Cuba with a score of 145 (122+23).
