UPA govt jeoparadising nation's security, says BJP Chief

Mangalore, May 19 (UNI) BJP National President Rajnath Singh today charged the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre of jeoparadising the nation's internal security by taking a soft stand towards Nepal's Maoists of Nepal, terrorists in Bangladesh and naxalites in the country, allegedly on the pressure from Left parties.

Addressing a press conference after inaugurating the new office building of the party's district unit here, he alleged that the anti-social elements from these three countries had entered into an alliance with Pakistan's intalligence agency, ISI to destabilise India's internal security.

He claimed the terrorist attacks in Varanasi, Bangalore and Doda in Jammu and Kashmir were the direct results of the soft treatment shown by the Centre towards these forces following pressure from its coalition partners, the Left parties, particularly the CPI (M).

Mr Singh accused the Left parties of playing the 'communal' card in a dangerous manner. For the first time in the history of India, international issues had been made local issues in the state elections by the Left parties.

The Left parties' double standards had been clearly exposed when it supported US President George Bush's visit to India as a ruling coalition partner and criticised it during state elections, he pointed out.
