Uncertainity on finalisation of ministers list prevails in UT
Pondicherry, May 19 (UNI) Uncertaintity prevails on the finalisation of the list of ministers to be inducted into the Rangasamy cabinet.
With most of the ten Congress members elected to the Territorial Assembly demanding a ministerial berth, it has become a herculean task to satisfy all and to finalise the list of ministers resulting in the delay in the expansion of the cabinet. Due to the delay, the newly-elected members of the Assembly could not take oath since the cabinet will have to recommend the date for the convening of Assembly.
Former Chief Minister V Vaithilingam, who failed in the race for the chief minister's post was now vying for the post of a minister, that too with powerful portfolios considering his seniority. Mr A V Sreedharan and E Valsaraj, both from Mahe region, were also in the race for the ministership besides Malladi Krishna Rao, who was elected from Yanam region.
Mr Rangasamy is expected to visit New Delhi in a couple of days to hold discussions with AICC office bearers to sort out things. By all means the expansion of the cabinet is not expected before May 27.
