Two killed in accident in Bengal

Barasat, West Bengal, May 19 (UNI) Two labourers were killed and as many injured in an accident in the second Vivekananda bridge, which was under construction, at Dakshineswar in North 24 Parganas district today.

Police here said the accident occurred when a concrete slab, which remained suspended on a defective iron rod, fell down on the victims.

Four sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital, where two succumbed to their wounds.

The other two injured were undergoing treatment.

Investigation was on.
