Two die in lightning in Kannur district of Kerala

Kannur,(Kerala), May 19 : Two persons. including an eight-year-old boy, was killed and another boy injured when lightning struck them early this morning.

According to police, Mohammed Ali (eight) was struck by lightning and died on the spot while he was sleeping in his house at Poilur, near Thalassery. Another boy was injured in the mishap.

In the other incident a man, indentified as K Janardhanan (42), died when lightning struck him at Thillenkari, near Iritty.

The district experienced heavy rain from early hours today with thunder resulting in disruption of power supply in some areas.
