TN CM administers anti-terrorism pledge
Chennai, May 19 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today administered an 'anti-terrorism' pledge to his ministrial colleagues and secretariat staff in view of the observance of anti-terrorism day on May 21, when former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi fell victim to a human bomb at an election meeting at Sriperumbudur in 1991.
As May 21 falls on Sunday, a government holiday, Mr Karunanidhi administered the pledge today. Besides his cabinet colleagues, top officials and a large number of secretariat staff took the oath at the Army parade ground.
Before administering the pledge, Mr Karunanidhi paid tributes to Mr Gandhi by showering flower petals at the portrait kept at the venue.
