Tata Motors PAT up by 18 pc to 458.11 cr for Q4 FY05-06

Mumbai, May 19 (UNI) Tata Motors has recorded an impressive growth of 18 per cent in profit after tax (PAT) for Q4 FY 2005-06, where profits grew to Rs 458.11 crores as compared to Rs 388.17 crores for the comparable quarter of the previous fiscal.

Company spokesperson Mr Ravikant talking to media persons said, revenues (net of excise) has grown by 29 per cent to Rs 6882.75 crores for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. The profit before tax however, was Rs 647.61 crores as against Rs 465.28 crores in the corresponding quarter last year, showing an increase of 39 per cent, he added.

The consolidated revenues (net of excise) stood at Rs 23718.17 crores, showing an increase of 21 per cent as against Rs 19532.84 crores in the previous year.

The Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the Financial 2005-06 was Rs 2348.98 crores, an increase of 27 per cent as against Rs 1848.09 crores in the previous year. The consolidated PAT after considering an amount of Rs 640 crores towards current and deferred tax, and after adjustment for share of minority interest and profit in associate companies was Rs 1728.09 crores as against Rs 1385.34 crores in the previous year, recording a growth of 25 per cent. The company has reported a Basic Earnings Per Share (EPS) of Rs 45.86 for its consolidated operations as against Rs 38.50 for the previous year.

The company's revenues (net of excise) for the FY05-06 has improved by 18 per cent to Rs 20602 crores compared to Rs 17419.13 crores in the previous fiscal. The total sales volume for 2005-06 was 4,54,129 vehicles, the comapny's highest ever growth of 14 per cent selling over 3,9936 vehicles in 2004-05. Commercial vehicles sales in the domestic market also grew by 13 per cent to 2,14836 units.

The Board of Directors has recommended an increased dividend of Rs 13 per share of Rs 10 each, for the Financial year 2005-06, which would be subject to approval of the shareholders, and the tax on the dividend will be borne by the company.
