Southwest monsoon advances to southwest, southeast bay, andaman sea

Pune, May 19 (UNI) Southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of southwest and southeast bay and Andaman Sea.

Heat day conditions prevailed in northweat Rajasthan.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and south madhya Maharashtra and were above normal in Marathwada and in some parts of Kashmir. They were appreciably below normal in interior Orissa, Haryana and in some parts of Jharkhand, south Chattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh and of north Tamil Nadu and were below normal in west Uttar Pradesh and in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, northwest Madhya Pradesh and Rayalseema. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttranchal, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, north Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhatisgarh, Konkan and Goa, madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalseema and interior Karnataka mainly dry weather will prevail at south Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh and Gujrat.

Heavy rains occured at most places in Kerala and at few places in Lakshadweep.

Very light rains occurred at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, madhya Maharashtra and north interior Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Uttaranchal, west Madhya Pradesh, south interior Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at few places in Chattisgarh, Marathwada, Rayalseema and Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Vidarbha, Telanganaand coastal Karnataka.
