Satellite phones for top police officers of Haryana
Chandigarh, May 19 (UNI) The Haryana State Telephone Board today approved the proposal of the Home Department to purchase eight satellite phones to ensure foolproof communication among senior police officials in case of unforeseen natural calamities and other emergencies.
This Board functions under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Prem Prashant.
While stating this, here a spokesman of the Home Department said these phones were necessary as natural calamities like earthquake, storms, floods and man-made disasters caused by wars and bomb blasts often lead to breakdown of communication systems.
He said these eight satellite phones would be provided to the Director General of Police, Additional Director General of Police, Crime and Law and order, Additional Director General of Police, Headquarters, Additional Director General of Police, CID and Inspector General of Police Ambala, Rohtak, Hisar and Gurgaon ranges.
He said the State Telephone Board has also approved the proposal to provide mobile phones to senior police officers in the rank of Director Generals , Additional Director Generals and Inspector Generals on the pattern of IAS officers.
