Rs 70 crore power schemes for Karnal
Chandigarh, May 19 (UNI) To improve the distribution and transmission system of electricity in Karnal district, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam (HVPN) have chalked out various schemes involving an investment of Rs 70 crore.
An official spokesman said under the scheme, five new sub stations would be constructed, capacity of three sub stations would be increased, old wires in all the villages would be replaced, new transformers would be set up and free connections would be given to consumers living below the poverty lines.
He said the construction work of sub stations of 220 KV in Neelo Kheri, 132 KV in Nagla Megha, 132 KV in Bhandso, 33 KV in Budanpur and Chor Karsa had already been started.
Of these, the construction work of 33 KV sub stations would be completed during the year whereas the construction of other sub stations would be completed in the next year.
