Rs 60 crore potable water plan for Panipat
Chandigarh, May 19 (UNI) The Haryana government has prepared a Rs 60.38 crore project for improving the facilities of potable water and urban sewage treatment in Panipat district.
Besides this, under the National Capital Region Scheme, about Rs four crore had been spent on setting up 70 tubewells which would benefit 19 villages of the district, an official spokesman said.
He said under the Urban Drinking Water Scheme for augmenting the supply of potable water in the district, Rs 93.36 lakh had been spent on setting up 14 tubewells which would benefit seven slums.
Similarly, Rs 33.80 lakh had been spent on laying a four km long pipeline besides digging up a tubewell.
He said for improving the drinking water supply to schools in the district, an amount of Rs 4.16 lakh had been spent during the past year.
This had improved the supply to 70 schools in the district.
