Rape accused Lok Sabha MP resigns

New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) Forward Bloc MP Bir Singh Mahato, convicted in a 24-year-old rape case, has resigned from the Lok Sabha.

Forward Bloc General Secretary Deb Brata Vishwas told UNI that Mr Mahato had sent his resignation to Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee last night.
