PHDCCI condemns police action against reservation protestors
New Delhi, May 19 (UNI) PHDCCI President Sushma Berlia today strongly condemned the police action against pro-reservation and anti-reservation protesters.
She said the broader debate over the form and content of positive affirmation can continue but the Government should not encourage such action against students.
''This is true of job reservation for the private sector, as well as quotas for OBCs in public institutions of higher education,'' she added.
PHDCCI endorses the view that if the Knowledge Commission has been set up, educational aspects should be routed through its recommendations.
''Such policy uncertainty by the government is unwarranted and may well have contributed to FII withdrawal from the capital market,'' she added.
