Petition to re-investigate ice cream parlour case filed
Kochi, May 19 (UNI) A writ petition has been filed before the Kerala High Court seeking a re-investigation into the ice-cream parlour case by the CBI.
Justice K Thankappan adjourned the matter to be considered after mid-summer vacation of regular bench of the High Court.
According to the petitioner Jameela Mankave, former treasurer of women's organisation 'Anweshi,' there were serious allegations against former Minister P K Kunhalikutty, constituting cognizable offence.
But the affidavit filed by IGP Sekharan Miniyodan and Additional DGP Jacob Punnoose before the Supreme Court cut the root of the case. In the affidavit filed on behalf of the state government, it was stated that though searching investigation was conducted nothing could be traced to arraign P K Kunhalikutty as an accused.
The petitioner submitted that the investigation was also required into the connection between Mr Kunhalikutty and IGP Sekharan Miniyodan and additional DGP Jacob Punnoose.
