Petition seeks reinvestigation into sex racket
Kochi, May 19 (UNI) A writ petition has been filed before the Kerala High Court seeking reinvestigation into the Kozhikode ice cream parlour sex racket case by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Justice K Thankappan adjourned the matter to be considered after midsummer vacation of the regular bench of the High Court.
According to petitioner Jameela Mankav, former treasurer of women's organisation 'Anweshi,' there were serious allegations against former minister P K Kunhalikutty constituting cognizable offence.
But the afffidavit filed by IGP Sekharan Miniyodan and Addl DGP Jacob Punnoose before the Supreme Court cut the root of the case. In the affidavit filed on behalf of the State Government, it was stated that though searching investigation was conducted nothing could be traced to array Mr Kunhalikutty as an accused.
The Petitioner submitted that investigation was also required into the alleged connection between Mr Kunhalikutty and the police officers.
