Opposition leaders refrain from swearing in ceremony

Guwahati, May 19 (UNI) The AGP and BJP top brass today stayed away from the swearing in of Congress-led Asom ministry.

Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president and leader of the party's legislative group Brindabon Goswami did not attend the swearing in ceremony.

Other leaders of the party were also not spotted in the function.

The AGP has 24 members in the newly elected House.

The top leaders of the BJP were also not seen in the function.

However, Asom United Democratic Front (AUDF) president Badruddin Ajmal attended the ceremony with all his party MLAs but left midway.

The AUDF, regarded as a fundamentalist party, has 10 legislators in the Assembly.
