Nitish shocked at assault on scribes
Patna, May 19 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today expressed anguish over the assault on scribes during the procession of pro- reservation medicos here today.
The DGP would inquire into the clashes, which left several scribes, policemen and medicos injured, Mr Kumar said.
Cautioning students against vested interests, who were instigating them to protest on streets on the reservation issue, Mr Kumar advised them to concentrate on their studies.
He called upon the youths to channelise their energies for making Bihar, a developed and strong state.
''I have found nothing substantial to either protest or support the reservation issue as the Centre is still seized with the matter and even the government is considering to increase seats in higher educational institutions, '' Mr Kumar said.
Earlier, several journalists, policemen and medicos were injured during the clashes at a procession march by the medical students in favour of the Centre's move to reserve seats in higher educational institutions.
