Missing Manas ranger traced in Tripura
Guwahati, May 19 (UNI) Missing Ranger Labanya Kumar Ramchiary of Bhuyanpara range of Manas National Park in Lower Assam has been traced by police at Udaipur in Tripura's West district.
The Forest officer went missing on May 5 last when he had gone to give witness account in an old case at Mangaldai district court. He was traced at Udaipur by Tripura police on May 17 last.
Mangaldai district Superintendent of Police, Raunak Ali Hazarika ruled out a case of abduction saying the forest officer did not receive any threat or extortion demand from any quarter.
The Forest Ranger had gone to Mangaldai court as a witness in a case under Arms Act in which one Jiten Boro and one Rohinath Daimary were involved. Both the accused have been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
