Minister urges four laning of Mysore Nanjangud stretch

Nnw Delhi, MAY 19, (UNI) Karnataka Housing Minister D T Jayakumar today met Union Minister for Surface Transport T R Balu here urging him to consider four-laning of the 22.5 Km stretch between Mysore and Nanjangud in the present Annual Plan.

In his memorandum Mr Kumar said the present carriage way width was inadequate to the meet the day-to-day traffic while the industrial growth was taking place in this stretch. There is a proposal to upgrade the existing Airport at Mysore. This will also smoothen the traffic at this stretch as it is the Gate Way for Kerala and Tamil Nadu, he added.
