Karunanidhi may seek centre's intervention
Chennai, May 19 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today said he would demand the centre, intervene in the Sri Lankan Tamils issue, to restore peace in the island.
In a brief chat with newspersons at party headquarters Anna Arivalayam here after the newly elected 18 PMK MLAs led by legislature party leader G K Mani called on him, he said after obtaining full details on what was happening in Sri Lanka, he would seek the centre's intervention, if necessary.
Suggesting a negotiated settlement to the ethnic crisis, Mr Karunanidhi said peace should return to the island and the Tamils should lead a prosperous life.
