Karthikeyan continues Williams' experiments at Vallelunga

Rome, May 19 (UNI) Back behind the wheels again, Narain Karthikeyan carried on Williams' experiments with breaks and cooling options and in the process, finished at the bottom of the time sheets at the Vallelunga circuit near here today.

Replacing Alex Wurz, Karthikeyan and Mark Webber worked on different programmes on day three of Williams' practice and the Indian clocked 1:03.935 to finish fourth among four drivers.

Honda's Rubens Barrichello topped the chart at 1:01.467, followed by team mate Jenson Button (1:01.949), Webber (1:02.628) and Karthikeyan.

Williams test team manager Mike Condliffe said, ''Narain started the day with back to back cooling options for oil and water before comparing different brake materials in the afternoon.

Mark continued the work started yesterday on the set-up options for Monaco, including aero changes to affect the balance of the car.

This was followed by the conclusion of tyre compound tests which will assist with the final choice for the race.'' For Honda, Barrichello worked on an aero and set-up programme in the RA106 and was half a second quicker than Button.

Karthikeyan and Webber will be again on duty as Williams continue their practice tomorrow.
